FAQs

  • I recommend washing in cold on the delicate cycle with a color catcher sheet (you can find at Amazon) to avoid having the colors bleed. I lay mine flat to dry, but I’ve heard that people have had success with machine drying on low.

  • Some people prefer to wash them rarely, maybe once a year. Other people wash them more frequently and they seem to hold up. Of course the more you wash them, the sooner they may wear out.

  • Price varies between size and style. I make throws and baby blankets. They can cost anywhere from $150-$800.

  • Materials cost about $150 (I only use quality fabrics) and the time can take anywhere from 2-3 weeks or 40-80 hours. Honestly, I’m not getting rich off these, they just take a lot of time (and love).

  • Crate and Barrel makes lovely blankets, but they are not handmade quilts. Quilts are art. They are assembled by an artist and have a quality that can not be duplicated en masse.

A handmade baby blanket or throw makes a great heirloom gift for a special person in your life. It will provide a lifetime of memories for the recipient.
